Renewable Energy – An Introduction

January 31st, 2010

If you’re thinking that that we have a tendency to will run out of energy if fossil fuel is depleted, you would like to browse this article.

Fossil fuel is non-renewable energy, which means it can run out every day in future regardless of how abundant it’s beneath our earth’s crust. However nowadays we have a tendency to still heavily rely on fossil fuel as our major energy source. We have a tendency to use fossil fuel ( petrol, natural gas, coal ) to get energy, for transportation and creating several daily-use product ( plastic bag, nylon, PVC and etc. ). Can you imagine what will happen when the fossil fuel is exhausted?

We cannot drive to figure; cannot watch tv, hear music, cook, online, light-weight up our house in the dark and etc. This is as a result of we will not be supplied electricity if no additional fossil fuel on earth! ( how to generate electricity as our power plant is based on fossil fuel to control? ). Perhaps you think that that such each day can not exist, but let me tell you: “Petroleum and natural gas can run out in less than 50 years time and coal will run out in a hundred years time”.

Once talking concerning fossil fuel and what will happen if we have a tendency to are running out of fuel ( so-referred to as energy crisis ), let us go straightly into our topic today, the renewable energy. Normally, renewable energy sources like wind power, tidal power and hydropower is employed to come up with electricity.

Firstly, allow us to talk concerning wind power. You’ll see array of wind turbine lying on a wide area. Wind turbine is large and is made terribly high from the bottom therefore that it will convert energy of wind to useful type of energy effectively. How it works? Wind is that the moving of air that carries a ton of energy. Wind turbine may be a machine that may convert the energy of moving air into rotational kinetic energy of wind turbine and hence generate electricity.

Like wind power, hydropower use the identical theory as wind power however hydropower convert the energy of moving water into electricity. But tidal power may be a bit difficult compare to hydopower although each of them convert energy of moving water to electrical energy. A reservoir is made at the seaside that have terribly high tide height ( >5m ), a valve is used to regulate the water flowing in or out of the reservoir hence is employed to generate electricity.

The foremost usable type of renewable energy is solar power. All of the renewable energy mentioned higher than will only be used to generate electricity. Solar power is different from the others, it can be used to heat up our home, water and even can be used to cook! And definitely, it will be used to generate electricity by using PV cell. PV cell could be a flat panel that uses photoelectric result to come up with electricity.

All of the above renewable energy are clean, bring no pollution and global warming. There are far more advantages using renewable energy than non-renewable energy. Thus additional analysis and development ( R & D ) should be do to maximise the usage and efficiency of renewable energy. Also, might renewable energy can totally replace fossil-fuel as possible thus that many environmental problems ( international warming, pollution…) will be solved.
